President’s Message

Greetings, AIA Eastern Pennsylvania members! Hopefully this Winter Kiosk finds you all well. With the winter we’ve been having we felt we could delay the release of this kiosk until everyone was shoveled out! Hopefully spring will be right around the corner.

Some of you may be wondering why I am writing this message, asking yourself, “wait, wasn’t that guy president last year? Please tell me we didn’t make the same mistake twice!!” Well, I hate to break it to you… I’m back for round two! I guess this is an opportunity for me to correct some of my mistakes last year. In all honesty, I am honored and excited to help the chapter through the 2014 year in any way I can.

We have a great year ahead of us! We will once again be holding the very successful Playhouse Design and Showcase. Last year’s event helped to raise the awareness of architecture in the community, and helped to raise money for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. This year, our goal is get the information and parameters out to everyone as soon as possible, hopefully giving you an opportunity to join in the fun!!!

Our monthly meetings are shaping up for the year, please keep your eye out and try to join us as often as possible. We are always striving to keep the meetings informative and enjoyable. If there are any items you would like us to explore, please feel free to contact me.

Just a reminder that we do have a LinkedIn group, AIA Eastern PA, please be sure to join, post, and comment. Consider the LinkedIn group your forum to discuss any art or architectural topics. This can be a great way to exchange ideas quickly.

Thank you for allowing me to help the AIA Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter in 2014, I will do my best. As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, suggestions, or criticisms.

Michael J. Metzger, AIA
2014 President
